Student experience

The success of this course is undoubtedly due to the skills, high standards and expertise of all the tutors. This has been a wonderful journey and one that I will not forget.

Over the course of a year, this programme enabled me to step beyond my comfort zone and engage confidently with unfamiliar areas of study. It strengthened my self-belief, stimulated my creativity, and nurtured a resilient, professional attitude towards my work.

This course has enabled me to thoroughly reflect on approaches to string teaching and improve my own teaching skills whilst studying for a specific qualification.

It’s such a unique course, I’d been looking for relevant professional development opportunities for a while, and this was the first which seemed specifically tailored to me as a cello teacher. The tutors are inspirational, and I have made great friends from all over the world, all of us share the same passion for teaching string instruments!

The PGCert is allowing me to improve my teaching further through self-reflection and sharing ideas with a lovely team of mentors and colleagues. It’s being just what I needed at this point of my teaching career!

The ESTA PGCert has given me the tools to analyse my own technique, helping me to become a better player and teacher. I have enjoyed being able to exchange ideas with colleagues outside of my immediate circle, including our excellent mentors.

I am loving expanding my knowledge of violin teaching, which is something that can only benefit my pupils.
